# API reference

> Endpoints for managing syncs, models, sources, destinations, and other Hightouch resources with the REST API.

## Base URL

Send every request to `https://api.hightouch.com/api/v1`.

## Authentication

Authenticate with a Hightouch API key in the `Authorization` header as a bearer token:

curl https://api.hightouch.com/api/v1/syncs \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer <API_KEY>"
```

Each key belongs to one workspace and inherits the permissions of a user group. To create a key and choose its permissions, see the [API overview](https://docs.hightouch.com/developer-tools/api-guide.md).

## Try a request

Each endpoint page has an API playground. Enter your API key, fill in the parameters, and send the request to see the live response.
